Project Overview
A new‑energy lithium production line in Hunan, using spodumene concentrate as raw material, is equipped with an acid‑roasting rotary kiln followed by a customised LJ4045 single‑drum cooler. This cooler handles the high‑temperature cooling of the acid‑roasted calcine, ensuring continuous operation for the subsequent leaching and lithium‑extraction stage.
Operational Challenges
The discharge temperature of the acid‑roasted spodumene is 320–360 °C, and the material carries corrosive acid mist.
Conventional cooling equipment suffers from uneven cooling, air leakage, dust emission, and cylinder corrosion.
Excessive discharge temperature lowers the lithium leaching yield, which in turn restricts the overall capacity of the whole production line.
Equipment Adaptation Solution
1. A tailor‑made LJ4045 single‑drum cooler (Φ4.0 × 45 m) will be adopted, featuring:
2. Wear‑resistant and corrosion‑resistant lifting plates installed inside the drum to intensify heat exchange with the spodumene material.
3. Double‑layer spring‑loaded flexible seals at both feed and discharge ends to isolate acid mist and suppress dust leakage.
4. Self‑aligning support rollers and variable‑frequency drive transmission to ensure continuous and stable operation of the production line.
An external circulating water‑cooling jacket around the drum for staged, controlled heat exchange.
