Wen Xianjun, Vice President of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He affirmed the rapid development and progress made by China's magnesium industry in recent years, and pointed out that the magnesium industry has the basis for entering a rapid development channel. It is suggested that the magnesium industry can use the experience of expanding applications with aluminum. From the passive service market to the active service market, cultivate the market, guide consumption, and expand effective supply. With the broad prospects of the magnesium market, magnesium has become the fourth largest metal in China.
 
In the opening ceremony, Chang Guowu deputy director of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out some problems in the current development of China's magnesium industry, such as the level of automation is not high and the deep processing technology is relatively backward. He suggested that magnesium wheels hub be used as a focus for expanding magnesium applications, creating magnesium long-board products, promoting upstream and downstream docking, and promoting large-scale applications in the automotive field.
 
He Jilin, professor of Zhengzhou University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out in the opening ceremony that China's magnesium industry is “big but not strong” and faces many key scientific and technological problems and new challenges that still need to be broken. And in response to the problem, he proposed a proposal for the development of the magnesium industry.
 
Liu Shengli, deputy mayor of Xuchang Municipal People's Government and Zhang Zhongmin, mayor of Changge Municipal People's Government respectively introduced Xuchang City and Changge City to the participants from the historical level, transportation location and industrial characteristics.
 
On June 1, 2019, the China Nonferrous Metals Association and the China Nonferrous Metals Society announced the announcement of 26 association standards such as “Smelting by-product nickel sulfate”.
