International large-scale sugar factories produce thousands of tons of sweet sugar every day, and they also produce a large amount of sugar residue. Traditional methods of composting or animal feed processing not only occupy a large amount of land, are also prone to breeding mosquitoes and flies, and have limited economic value. However, although sugar residue is solid waste, it is rich in CaCO₃ and can be converted into quicklime (CaO) after high-temperature calcination. This transformation not only reduces environmental pollution, but also realizes the recycling of resources and creates economic value for the sugar factory.

The sugar residue can be calcined to produce lime powder. The lime powder that originally needed to be purchased can now be produced for self-use, saving a lot of procurement costs. In addition, during the calcination process, organic matter is burned away, reducing the environmental pollution of sugar residues.

The technical team of Henan ZK Corp carefully designed a unique process plan and equipment layout based on the characteristics of the sugar residue and the actual situation on site. Under limited site conditions, the company successfully produced high-quality lime products, with a CaO content of more than 90% and a 90μm sieving rate of more than 95%, fully meeting the stringent requirements for lime in the sugar production process.

In this process, the rotary kiln plays an important role as a key equipment for calcining sugar residues. The sugar residue is continuously rolled in the rotary kiln and heated evenly, thereby achieving a full decomposition reaction and ensuring the high quality of the lime. The ball mill is responsible for finely grinding the calcined lime to make it react more fully.
